Waitomo Caves

There are hundreds of caves that lie beneath the surface of Waitomo. Only a handful are open to the public yet they all offer unique adventures that would be hard to match anywhere else in the world.

The first trip I did was the Lost World Epic Adventure - a 7 hour adventure involving a 100m abseil deep into the darkness, billions of glow worms, impressive rock formations and jumping off ledges into the unknown.

The second trip I did was with Kiwi Cave Rafting and was five hours involving abseiling 30m, rock climbing, travelling down the river on an inflatable tube, glow worm viewing and crawling through some tight spaces.
