Mount Tongariro, Ruapehu and Nguarahoe are the three peaks which dominate Tongariro National Park in the middle of New Zealand's North Island. Nguarahoe was the inspiration for Mount Doom in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies and the whole area is littered with beautiful scenery that's an absolute must-visit.
