Most people go to the Waikato region of New Zealand for the city sights of Hamilton, Waitomo Caves or the village of Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings.
I found myself driving along the narrow, seemingly endless, country lanes in search of nothing but a fence littered with toothbrushes. And the bucket for donations, of course.
It really was as odd as it sounds - a fence in the middle of nowhere - with hundreds of toothbrushes carefully attached. And some were in better condition than others, that's for sure! There's even a Dr. Who-esque mail box to be seen.
So there you have it, if you find yourself in the region of Hamilton, take the detour and go in search of the Toothbrush Fence for yourself. Don't forget to take an old toothbrush so you can leave a contribution for future visitors!
